Project Context

During the summer of 2022, I interned as a UX Designer at Northwestern Mutual on the Planning Experience (PX) team. I contributed to designing the primary financial tool used by financial planners and focused on increasing insurance policy retention rates among clients.

My other responsibilities included building an internal design toolkit for ideation work, syncing weekly with development engineers & collaborating with senior designers.

At the end of the internship, I received an offer to return fill time as an Associate UX Designer post my graduation in June 2023.

Ankitha was an exemplary intern in every sense and is the exact type of designer we should be actively seeking to convert to a hire. I can’t recommend her highly enough, and I know she’d be the type of designer to start contributing meaningful work immediately and with limited oversight if hired full-time.
The things that impressed me most were her ability to deep dive into a problem space and know the right questions to ask, as well as the right contacts to reach out to, in order to solve user problems.
